Monester Denise Lee-Kinsler, AKA by the world as Denise Lee, CONDOM LADY and some as the DOUGHNUT LADY. Born April 29th 1971 to Raymond S. Lee who is deceased and Lois E. Lee, whom reside in Dothan, AL. Lee is a native of Miami, FL and born at Jackson Memorial, FL. Lee-Kinsler has a handsome, very intelligent as well as athletically inclined young man that was born January 17, 1992. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler was married to her son’s father at a very young age of eighteen (18). Divorcing at twenty-one (21) and remarrying August, 21, 2017 to William A. Kinsler. Not long after her first marriage she had a son three years later. Lee-Kinsler determined to continue her education and completed her schooling with a B.A. degree from Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, FL in 2001.
Although Mrs. Lee-Kinsler had her intentions on going to law school at Howard University after completing her undergraduate in Criminal Justice, not long before completing her education, Mrs. Lee-Kinsler decided to experiment with the play PRACTICING WHAT YOU PREACH. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler indicated that it fail because she had no idea what she was getting into. Nonetheless, the experience with PRACTICING WHAT YOU PREACH started a zeal to face the unknown and making an overwhelming decision to work in film and fashion rather than law. This impacted and changed Lee-Kinsler direction in not only her life but the lives of many individuals. Also Mrs. Lee-Kinsler proved that you can overcome failure with success, if you keep walking by faith and believing what God has ordained you to do. She also know that what God has instructed her to do and she decided to take a leap of faith and walk into her destiny. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler has been writing since she was (14) fourteen years of age and her first script that she wrote was called “BECAUSE MAMA DIDN’T RAISE ME HELL DID”. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler indicate that this script was based on her own personal life experience from being separated from her mother, due to the unwise choices her mother made, while Mrs. Lee-Kinsler’s was at the age of (14) fourteen. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler is also a published author of a book called “Going thru Hell on Earth”. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler and her little brother at the time, had to go and stay with their grandmother. This was a life time and shocking experience for Mrs. Lee-Kinsler and her brother who only new Miami, FL and found themselves in a city called Dothan, AL. This definitely was not an easy transformation for Mrs. Lee-Kinsler neither for her brother. This is why Mrs. Lee-Kinsler says that she loves to work, reach out and mentor at-risk, challenged and hurting kids because she is able to identify with them knowing what it feels like. This led Lee-Kinsler into so much defiance, in growing up, and due to lack of understanding on how to direct, at the time, her frustration. Ever since, Mrs. Lee-Kinsler has been inspired to write. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler moved back to Miami at (17) seven-teen years of age and resided back in Miami except for a brief stay of 5 months in Irvington New Jersey at 21. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler eventually did her first talent show called the “Bamquesha Gong Show” in Miami, FL February 2003. Soon after her first talent show, Lee-Kinsler moved back to Dothan, Alabama, at the age of (32) thirty-two and brought together poets from up North in the New York area, the Miami area and some of the locals of Dothan, AL. She called the performance “Def Poetry Jams of Dothan,” which took place in Dothan, AL during October 2004. The show catered to all ages and a diverse group of individuals, which surprised Mrs. Lee-Kinsler.
It was not until she decided to bloom like a flower and decided to write on a full time basis that she realized that it was not just about making money but building a ministry. In 2005, Lee-kInsler took the journey to Atlanta, GA, where Mrs. Lee-Kinsler did her first full fledge production of a play called DYING TO LIVE in 2008, that she wrote while living in Dothan, Alabama.
Mrs. Lee-Kinsler has returned to Miami, FL in 2008 and since she touch back in Miami, FL she has done the MIAMI APOLLO GONG SHOW in March 2009 and the reproduced the play Lee-Kinsler did in Atlanta called DYING TO LIVE in November 2010 and also a dance Extravaganza called SOUL LIVE in September 2011 and additional Gong Shows in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler also published a book called “Going thru hell on Earth” in August 2014 and Mrs. Lee-Kinsler is also working and Lee-Kinsler just did October 14th 2023 her annual Fashion Show called Rip the Runway For Cancer. Lee-Kinsler, in addition, has other projects that she has written and will produce when the support and opportunity presents itself. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler also enjoyed working with many others to help them bring their dreams to life because she believes that in order to be a good leader, we must be a good servant. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler is amazed of the impact of the people who she has been working with, that has never been on stage or thought about performing professionally, until coming in contact with events Mrs. Lee-Kinsler has produced and they have modeling agencies in GA, artist are traveling to Europe and Amsterdam. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler did not have any financial assistants or any sponsors. She said only the LORD JESUS CHRIST was her sponsor. He touched many individual’s hearts that opened doors for her to walk in. That’s why she believes that only God was the one who brought these projects to life and using her as a willing vessel. Gwen Cherry NFL Yet Center, in Miami Dade County was one of her number one assistants, her home base to do many of the projects that Mrs. Lee-Kinsler has produced. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler has coordinated two talent shows, dance performances and even invited guest for a movie review of a short film version of DYING TO LIVE. It was selected by the local film festival, in Miami. She gives thanks to so many who have imparted in this dream journey. Some Mrs. Lee-Kinsler knows of and some she doesn’t but God knows them all and know that God has blessed these individuals because of their assistance. Although Mrs. Lee-Kinsler knows it takes monetary backing to achieve where A Leap of Faith Foundations wants to launch, Mrs. Lee-Kinsler insist on saying only JESUS is the answer to her achievements.
Mrs. Lee-Kinsler has also been involved in many humanitarian projects. For over thirteen years, Mrs. Lee-Kinsler has provided condoms within the community, been actively attending and speaking at health fairs and many other neighborhood events. Pictures of her handing out condoms are available on her website. That’s how she gained the name of “THE CONDOM LADY” in Miami. She also feed the hungry and volunteered at the shelters such as the VILLAGE which deal with substance abuse and homeless individuals, where Lee-Kinsler did an arts summit for a day at the Hilton Hotel.
Now being that Lee-Kinsler dad died from AIDS in 1989 and was a senior at Miami Edison Senior High School, now at 52, Lee-Kinsler believes that is why whe love to work with the less fortunate, those who have been abusing alcohol, drugs or even their bodies. Lee-Kinsler loved her dad but didn’t go to the funeral because of being angry on how her dad was going to miss her graduation. Yes that was selfish at that time and being that Lee-Kinsler was young and didn’t understand, was why Lee-Kinsler acted in such a manner. Who would not expect a 17 year old child not to be angry having her dad transitioning with AIDs and a close casket funeral? As Lee-Kinsler got old enough to understand and lived in New Jersey for a few years, Lee-Kinsler’s aunt, which was Lee-Kinsler’s dad’s sister, informed her about what happened during the funeral service, which ended up having the casket closed, during the service because of the stigma from having Aids, in the late eighties (80s). Lee Kinsler’s mom started smoking crack a few years before this and to this day still gets high. One of Lee-Kinsler’s biggest dream and prayer is to see my mom, who is now 72 years of age living drug free.
Because of this exposure at such a young age and having to deal with adult issues as a teenager, the nerve of some folk wondering why Lee-Kinsler can relate to the youth the way God has blessed her to be able to communicate with the young adult. It is an instinctive hidden deep within that Lee-Kinsler can smell troubled children like the smell of crack. It’s dormant but when Lee-Kinsler is in the presence of it, HER INSTICTS immediately kick in. That’s why Lee-Kinsler never had a desire to use drugs or drink and HATE DRUGS and ALCOHOL like God hate sins. I despise it so much and I made a vow to help educate society so that no young people will go through or can overcome like I did.
Now Lee-Kinsler in a world that want to control the gift that Lee-Kinsler has been blessed with and since Lee-Kinsler was not designed with that type of make-up, those who wants to control her tenacity and abilities will spread rumors and say Lee-Kinsler is too head strong, don’t like to listen or label as , I am another angry Black woman. If that was the case, how can someone who has not had to overcome the obstacles and hurdles that Lee-Kinsler has defied, have the right to judge? Why wouldn’t Lee-Kinsler have the right to be angry when God allowed her to make it and not be a statistics, yet still being denied, rejected and treated like Lee-Kinsler is a statistic? Sadly still labeled by the inaccurate information to keep a cap on Lee-Kinsler soaring in levels that can’t be imaginable by unseen eyes of those who can’t measure up.
This is how Lee Kinsler ended up being the condom lady. Being an ex-drug dealer that passed from Aids, daughter. He was a drug dealer and got high on his own supply of heron. So Lee-Kinsler may not be HIV POSITIVE but she is a descendent of what she saw happened to her family. Lee-Kinsler is also grateful that her mom is still alive and good. However, all of Lee-Kinsler siblings moms, that is from her dad side of the family are dead except Lee-Kinsler’s mother because when Lee Kinsler’s mom said enough is enough, that meant SHOP WAS CLOSED.
Therefore, it’s in Lee-Kinsler blood to know how to flip and turn dirt into a diamond. However, God chose a path for Lee-Kinsler to use her ability to help her community and not poison her community. Lee-Kinsler did this by flipping condoms instead of flipping KEYS of Cocaine. Wherefore, Lee-Kinsler was now being ostracized for turning a tragedy into a triumph by some who could have made a difference, yet used it to deny Lee-Kinsler’s the growth of running and operating an actual facility. This would have allowed Lee-Kinsler the financial freedom and support to help inform those who are unaware of the schemes of this world to keep you in poverty, sick, and deprived of what is needed to stay healthy and soar. Lee-Kinsler believes if we have a healthy people, we will have a healthy community and prosperous productive citizens.
The world didn’t know that the obstacles set before Lee-Kinsler didn’t do anything but put ignite the fuel of success for Lee-Kinsler to succeed, in spite of. Being denied just drove the determination of not being a statistic to higher levels, which led to Lee-Kinsler working her derriereoff to obtain what Lee-Kinsler has; nonetheless, still being ignored, denied and disregarded. The nerve of a society that can’t see the potential of a young lady fighting to not be conformed to what was environmental and to overcome all of that just to still be rejected from having the best for her community. Sadly for those who have judged Lee-Kinsler, in a negative light, really has the audacity to call Lee-Kinsler what they think and not what they knew? The strangest thing is, judgment comes from those who can’t and hasn’t been through a 3rdof what God allowed Lee-Kinsler to endure, overcame and made it out, without being caught up in the snares of what society has set for most? When can Lee-Kinsler be able to have the resources needed to heal the trauma and not have to keep fighting for the very basic needs and equipment necessary to employee and develop others, where they don’t have to have such a strain to be who they were born to be? In other words, Lee-Kinsler said our communities need to stop accepting slop and chittlins from the hog and feast on the entire hog instead. What is wrong with this world that has the right to say what someone should or shouldn’t deserve based on their inaccurate judgments and speculations? Not understanding that what many do for evil, such as denial, rejection or ignoring is the very thing that drive and fuel people like Lee-Kinlser and others to excel to the top regardless.
Again Mrs. Lee-Kinsler gives her actions to Jesus because she states when Jesus said “When I was hungry did you feed me and when I was thirsty, did you give me water? When I was in jail, did you come and see me?” Mrs. Lee-Kinsler believes we must treat people how we want to be treated and that there are some cruel people in this world but there are more people cheering and routing for you than those who are waiting to see if we fail. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler believes some of us have to take the time to make a difference and don’t worry about who is not but we can be that ONE who does make an impact on known and unknown individuals. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler closed out by saying “Success is great but CHANGE IS REAL. Do we want success so if the numbers do not add up we quit but with CHANGE regardless, rain, snow or shine we keep pushing and pressing into our destiny. Remember a wise pastor once said “Our Purpose is Greater than our pain” and JESUS knows when the time is right because His time is not our time. Mrs. Lee-Kinsler must admit that she may not like His time but must respect it because there will be no other time but His.” Although she wants and will bless billions of people, because it is part of her destiny, she has no idea what her future holds because Jesus Christ said we must walk by faith and not by sight. Quit walking by sight and start walking by faith and we will walk into our destiny.” Mrs. Lee-Kinsler motto is"" WHAT’S GONE BE GONE BE.” But one must STEP OUT ON FAITH AND PUT IT IN ACTION TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.
FLY people FLY, you are eagles, aim HIGH and FLY.
